She has wide experience in patients with special needs, dentistry for infants, and treatments under sedation and general anesthesia.

She started a blog of Pediatric Dentistry in 2011.

Treatments Performed

Dr. Martínez is dedicated to children’s oral health from birth to adolescence. She has the experience and training required to care for a child’s teeth, gums and mouth at the different stages of childhood.

Without proper dental care, children face possible tooth decay and chronic infectious disease, which may involve pain and loss of self-esteem in the child.

The clinic performs every preventive and conservative treatment for 0 to 14 year-old children: cleaning and topical fluorides, sealants, fillings, root canals in primary teeth, crowns, extractions, cosmetic dentistry, oral trauma, sports protectors.

Likewise, treatments are performed under sedation in the clinic or under general anesthesia in a hospital, in order to carry out the entire treatment in one single session.

Dr. Martínez is entirely at your disposal to answer any questions you might have about sedation or general anesthesia.

What are our office hours?

We open every weekday, from Monday to Friday. Morning hours: 9.30am to 1.30pm; afternoon hours: 11am to 4pm; evening hours: 3.30pm to 7pm.

The days booked for surgery or sedation are not available to the general public.

Why use a childen´s dentist?

Pediatric Dentists: the best care for children

The treatment required by a child is not the same as an adult’s. Neither is the time that a child needs. All clinic staff have spent years training to treat pediatric patients exclusively.

Additionally, if at the end of the day our patients or their families are not 100% happy and satisfied with the treatment performed, we encourage them to contact us as soon as possible, so we can do our best to fix it.

 Sedation

Sedation is an alternative and effective way to provide dental treatment for those anxious children who are unable to overcome their unconscious fear of treatment. Children often show their fear by closing their mouths, screaming, or not allowing us to explore their teeth.

Children with mental disabilities that make them impossible to treat are also eligible to receive this treatment.

Sedation effects last as long as the treatment or intervention.

Advantages of sedation include: calmness and comfort, relaxation, safety, enough working time to complete treatment and recovery within a reasonable time.

This technique is highly safe. Taking into account patient monitoring and the doses commonly used for conscious sedation, we can consider that the risks are minimal.

Sedation dentistry allows comprehensive care to be provided in a comfortable manner for patients that might not otherwise be able to achieve the required level of relaxation.

We want your child to be as happy as possible when receiving treatment. After their initial examination the doctor may recommend sedation due to the extent of treatment needed, their young age, the degree of situational anxiety present, or medical history. We can administer sedation with laughing gas, orally, or through an IV.

Regardless of the method used, patient safety is paramount. For all sedation methods we utilize state of the art, hospital-grade monitoring equipment. Along with a myriad of vital signs, our equipment monitors end tidal carbon dioxide, which is the gold standard when monitoring a sedated patient. In addition, all of our clinical staff are certified in CPR and Basic Life Support.

Don’t let anxiety or special needs keep your child from receiving the dental care that they need.

General Anestesia

Hospital dentistry is recommended for extremely apprehensive children, very young children, and children with special needs that are not candidates for conscious sedation. Your child would be placed under general anesthesia and would be unconscious.

This is the same treatment that your child would receive if they were having their tonsils removed.
